Hi, I’m Suzie Huntsman, L.Ac. I combine Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern research to help you feel clearer, calmer, and more comfortable in your body.
Before I found Traditional Chinese Medicine, I was a high school math teacher. Then a series of concussions over several years turned into post-concussion syndrome. I dealt with chronic migraines, brain fog, light sensitivity, depression and anxiety, and persistent neck pain. A lot of conventional guidance boiled down to “wait it out.” I tried. It wasn’t enough, and it wasn’t a plan I could live with.
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine genuinely changed my life.
It helped me regulate my symptoms, rebuild stability in my nervous system, and feel like myself again. That experience is what pulled me into this work. I wanted to support other people who feel dismissed, overwhelmed, or stuck in symptoms that are affecting their everyday life. My approach blends the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a special respect for classical teachings like the Nei Jing, alongside modern Western research and studies. I care about results, and I also care about making sure you understand what we’re doing and why.
Treatment shouldn’t feel mysterious or intimidating. You should feel informed and supported.
While I’m especially passionate about working with concussion recovery and post-concussion symptoms, I also love helping patients with injuries, aches and pains, emotional health, postpartum support, and fertility support. Every person’s story is different, and treatment should match the whole picture, not just one symptom.
When I’m not in the clinic, I’m at home in Mankato with my husband Sam, our daughter Orla, and our cat Schmidt. I love workouts and long walks, family time, and unwinding with a good murder mystery or thriller series.
If you’re looking for a calm space where you’ll be listened to, treated with respect, and guided through a clear plan, I’d love to work with you.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people feel very little. You might notice a quick pinch or a dull, achy sensation for a second, then your body settles. A lot of patients feel calm or sleepy during treatment.
Do I need a consultation before booking?
No. It’s optional. If you want to talk first, ask questions, or you’re not sure where to start, the consultation is a great low-pressure option.
I’m nervous about needles. Is that normal?
Completely normal. We go at your pace. I’ll explain what I’m doing before I do it, and you can always ask me to pause or adjust.
What if I’m not sure acupuncture is right for me?
That’s exactly what the consultation is for. We’ll talk through what’s going on, what acupuncture can and can’t do, and whether it’s a good fit.
How long is the first appointment?
90 minutes. That gives us time for intake, assessment, and treatment without rushing.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you’re working on and how long it’s been going on. Some people feel change quickly. Chronic patterns usually need consistency. We’ll reassess as we go and adjust the plan based on your response.
What about the cupping marks?
Marks can happen, especially in tight areas. They’re temporary and usually fade within a few days. If you have an event coming up, let me know and we’ll plan around it.
Do you treat post-concussion symptoms?
Yes. This is one of my focus areas. If you’re dealing with headaches, neck tension, brain fog, light sensitivity, or nervous system dysregulation after a concussion, we’ll build a plan and track progress over time.
Do you work with postpartum or fertility support?
Yes. I love supporting people through postpartum recovery and fertility journeys. If you’re unsure whether acupuncture fits your situation, you can start with the consultation.
Do you offer cupping on its own?
Yes. Fire cupping can be booked as a standalone service.
Are cupping, gua sha, tuina, and electroacupuncture included?
Yes when they’re appropriate for your situation. They’re tools I use to make treatment more effective. I’ll always explain what I’m recommending before we add anything.
Is electroacupuncture safe?
For most people, yes. I screen for contraindications like pacemakers and certain medical devices, and I’ll tailor everything to your comfort level.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes. I usually use points on the arms and legs, and sometimes the back depending on your needs.
What happens during my first appointment?
We start with a thorough conversation about your symptoms, history, and goals. Then you’ll rest on a heated table while your treatment works. If something like cupping, gua sha, tuina, or electroacupuncture would help, I may include it, and I’ll explain why.

If you’re not sure what to book, I’m happy to help you choose the best starting point.
If you’d rather talk first, the consultation is an easy, low-pressure place to start.
